I love the Book of Ruth. It speaks of women's loyalty in adversity, but it also speaks of Boaz and his good estate. I believe God calls us to a good estate and an eternal household, where we are loved and belong, are known and treasured. I may write more about the Book of Ruth when I find some time. It is only a short book in the Bible but it is a treasure. It speaks to me of fidelity.

Welcome to the 'bible' community.

Is the bible true? Can we share our thoughts and opinions about this?

I think the most profound things in the bible spring from encounters people had, and wrote about, in their own language and in their own time.

I believe these encounters were often profound, and can help us, and give us insight, as we in turn choose to open our hearts on our own spiritual journeys.

Some of these insights and encounters, described in the bible, were remarkable.

So I start by homing in on the actual encounters that people had.

Then you move on to ask: how did they try to make sense of those encounters?
